Entry 10 - A Beloved Entree: The Chicken Sandwich

Image
Throughout this semester, I feel as if all of my blog posts have had some pretty intricate topics. Since this is the last post of this semester, I wanted this to be simple, but effective. So, with that being said, I will be talking about something I love. Now a lot of you probably will agree with me on this. Some won't, but that's okay. You're about to find out why I love chicken sandwiches , and why it is loved by many around the world Chicken sandwiches are so versatile. You can eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The chicken can be seasoned to your liking, and can be cooked in any way you see fit, whether its grilling, frying, or roasting the chicken. There are many sides that go with this dish too. There's fries, onion rings, or even potato chips. Let's not forget about the taste. These things are so good if you prepare them the right way. It's a classic to make at the cookout for sure. Of course there has to be a counter argument, so here's an al...

It's like this mix of magic and good vibes that hits me right in the feels every single year. Let me break it down for you.  First off, the whole gift-giving vibe is just awesome. There's something ridiculously satisfying about wrapping up a present or playing secret Santa for your crew. Finding that perfect gift and seeing someone's face light up? That's the stuff that makes my heart happy.  Christmas is like a VIP pass to kindness city, and I'm all about it. Then there's the whole festive atmosphere that just takes over everything. Lights twinkling everywhere, turning the world into a legit fairy tale. It's like an upgrade for cozy vibes, you know? Cold weather outside just means extra snuggly times indoors—fireplace, fuzzy blankets, and all that good stuff. And don't even get me started on the food. Christmas treats are in a league of th...

Image
Have you ever been on the go and all of a sudden your stomach starts growling? As you come to a red light, you look to the left across the street and notice a McDonalds with a short line. Without thinking you rush into the line and order your favorite meal. Now, while you may be enjoying the taste of your food, your body is definitely not enjoying the effects of it.  In the bustling world of fast food, McDonald's stands as an iconic symbol. With its golden arches and familiar menu, the chain has become a global giant. However, beneath the allure of convenience lies a concerning truth: the impact of McDonald's on our health.      One of the primary concerns is the high level of unhealthy ingredients found in McDonald's menu items. From trans fats to excessive sodium, many offerings contribute to health issues such as heart disease, hypertension, and obesity. The infamous supersize option only increases the problem, encouraging overconsumption and ...

Entry 7 - Island Insights: Exploring Fortnite's Ever-Changing World

Image
Have you ever found a new video game to play and it ended up being one of your favorites of all time? Well that's how it was for me in this case. As I was entering my 8th grade year, there had been so much buzz going around about this new free-to-play game that everyone had been trying out. Filled with curiosity, I went home after school and loaded up my Xbox. I went to the app store, typed " Fortnite " into the search browser, and began downloading the game. This would turn out to be one of my best gaming decisions ever. Since Fortnite just recently brought back their OG map, I figured it was only write to pour out my thoughts on the game as a whole! Fortnite Battle Royale was released on console and PC in August of 2017. I didn't start to get interested in the game at it's launch, but rather a couple of months after that. The game was still in it's very early stages when I first hopped on. I played through the end of season one and most of season two, but ...

Entry 6 - Embracing a Famous Role Model: Why You Should Follow in Their Footsteps

Image
Have you ever created a habit or took action upon something because of a famous person you look up to? In this world there are so many influential people out there who inspire others in their own special way. Whether you look up to Hellen Keller for defying the odds, or Martin Luther King Jr. for trying to make a difference in his community, there is a long list of people who have made a difference in the lives of others.  Since I grew up a Seahawks fan, I've always paid more attention to the lives of the players on the team. One player in particular that stuck out to me, however, is their former quarterback Russell Wilson. The reason he fascinated me so much was due to his mentality. One quality he has is that he is not a quitter. He is always hyping up his team when their on the sidelines, even if their losing. The way he rallies his team and get them in the spirit demonstrates real leadership. Not only is he an inspiration on the field, but he is also a great person off the fie...

There are millions of different breeds to choose from, so finding the one for you shouldn't be hard at all! Owning a dog may not be suitable for everyone, but there are numerous benefits you could enjoy if you ever decide to change your mind! Being a dog owner is a very common thing in the United States. Nearly 50% of all households across the country have at least one dog. The current household dog population in the U.S is estimated at 89 million. Now that's a lot of furry friends out there! On the other hand, there are about 3.3 million dogs in shelters every year. While some of these dogs eventually get adopted, the ones who don't are needlessly killed. Wouldn't it make you feel good to know that you were the one who saved a life, AND made a new friend at the same time? There are man...

Entry 4 - My Aspiration: Helping Others Feel Like Their Best Selves

Image
The Inspiration Athletics have been a calling of mine ever since I was a little boy. I've participated in any sport you can think of, whether it was for fun or competition. When you are participating in any type of physical activity, there is always the risk of injuring yourself. I've had my fair share of injuries throughout my athletic career. From a dislocated shoulder to shin splints, I have definitely dealt with some injuries from time to time, and let me tell you, none of them were fun to deal with. I dislike the fact that getting hurt is so common, but at the end of the day, it is inevitable. One day I want to be able to help others who have gotten hurt and help them get back to 100%. This is why I would like to become a physical therapist one day.  The Career You will most likely have an encounter with a physical therapist at some point in your lifetime. You will most likely have to visit one if you had just recently had surgery, had some sort or accident, or hurt you...
